Robotics Workshops

After School Clinics in Soldering and Coding

Project Make It is conducting after school workshops in soldering and coding. These two hour clinics are held at your location to introduce your students to robotics by teaching the basics of electricity and coding.

Soldering Workshop

Up to 18 students – 5th through 12th grade
2 hours after school

Project Make IT will conduct a soldering clinic where we teach the kids basic soldering skills. Soldering is a form of welding that uses an iron heated to approximately 800 degrees to join 2 pieces of metal. Solder is also the metal alloy that is melted to connect those pieces. It’s used to make solid electrical connections. After a safety lesson and some practice, the students will get to solder their very own blinking badge that they can take home.

Coding Workshop

Up to 14 students – 5th through 12th grade
2 hours after school at your location

Coding is one of the foundations of robotics. Code is used in robotics to program microcontrollers which function as the brains of the robot – controlling motors and sensors. Project Make It will teach students how to program using a Micro:bit microcontroller and a form of code called Makecode developed by Microsoft.

These clinics/workshops are 100% sponsored. We provide admission and all the materials. All you need to provide is students and laptops/chromebooks for coding.
